Sylvia Mantella was born in Toronto, Ontario. She is first generation born Canadian and only child to parents who emigrated from The Czech Republic in the late 1960′s. Her passion and genuine desire to “give back” – whether in the community or on a global level – has been the catalyst to the success in her several ventures and many charitable causes both personally and corporately.

Sylvia has been involved with Mantella Corporation since 2008. In 2010 Sylvia took her position as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Her mission statement, “To maintain the stellar integrity and impeccable reputation of a family owned corporation established more than 70 years ago.” Through careful, strategic, and very selective branding decisions, Sylvia has been an important asset to Mantella Corporation. Mantella Corporation is a significant contributor to their community, local charities, and charities on a global level.

 Boards and Committees

2015 to Present – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella sat as the Co-Chair for Bloor Street Entertains, benefiting CANFAR, Canada’s largest Aids and HIV Research Organization.

2016 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella sat as Co-Chair with Actor James Franco for AMBI Gala 2016. Proceeds to date have benefitted Children’s Aid Foundation, UforChange Regent Park, and The Prince Albert Foundation.

2015 to Present – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella joined the committee for the Boost Butterfly ball. All proceeds raised go to Boost Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Centre.

2014 and 2015 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella sat as Co-Chair for Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) raising in excess of $2.1 Million to build and maintain a school for the youth of Haiti, who may otherwise not have received the opportunity of education.

2013 to Present – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella has been the chair of the nominating committee for CAFA (Candian Arts and Fashion Awards).

2012 to 2016 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella has served on the committee for the annual Scrubs in the City event, supporting SickKids Foundation. This event has raised more than $3 Million benefitting SickKids Hospital.

2013 to 2014 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella sat as the Chair for Le Grand Bal, with proceeds raised benefitting local children’s charities including The Covenant House and OOLAGEN Youth and Children’s Mental Health Ontario.

2010 to 2014 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella and Mrs. Suzanne Rogers Co-Chaired the highly coveted ‘Suzanne Rogers Presents’ which brought International Designers to Canada including; Oscar de La Renta (2010), Marchesa (2012), and Zac Posen (2014). Proceeds raised to date exceed $2.4 Million benefitting Boost Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Centre, The Herbie Fund, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and many others.

2014 to 2016 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella has been a member of the Honorary Board for the TFI (Toronto Fashion Incubator) New Labels which supports and elevates local Fashion Designers.

2012 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella and Mrs. Michelle Zerillo of Dolce Magazine Co-Chaired ‘Amore Without Borders’. All proceeds benefitted Doctors Without Board.

November 2011 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella joined The Board of Directors with global fundraising organization ONEXONE. Sylvia and Robert’s genuine hope to improve the lives of children locally and around the world has driven them to sponsor and support The ONEXONE Global organization since 2008.

October 2011 – Mantella Corporation was the Presenting Sponsor for The Fourth Annual “DRAWN TO DEVELOP”. Auctioned Works of Art raised funds for Street Kids International. To date, “Drawn to Develop” has raised over $200,000.

September 2011 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella was honored to be featured in Lifestyle National Magazine “Dolce Vita Magazine 2011,” for her contributions to Fashion and Philanthropy.

August 2011 and July 2013 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella was featured on the online Fashion Publication “The Coveteur”, founded by the creative team of Erin Kleinberg, Steph Mark and Jake Rosenberg.

February 2011 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella co-chaired “Catwalk Cure for Cancer” benefitting The Princess Margaret Hospital. This event raised nearly $200,000 for the hospital in one evening.

2011 to Present – Mantella Corporation has been a proud sponsor of the Ronald McDonald House through sponsorship of their annual “Holiday Chic” event, which benefits the Toronto Ronald McDonald House.

2009 to 2012 – Mrs. Sylvia Mantella sat on various committees and boards at Country Day School (CDS), with initiatives in fundraising. All proceeds go directly to The Country Day School’s development to provide extensive educational advancement and continued expansion of the school, benefiting the lives of the students.

2007 to Present – Sylvia, Robert, and their children have been supporters of many life-saving animal organizations committed to the humane treatment of animals such as PETA, The World Wildlife Federation, The Toronto Humane Society, Toronto Wildlife Centre and World Society for the Prevention of Cruelty.
